Mike Richter Had Back Rehabilitation with Dr. Robert Watkins IV
Upon consultation, when I heard that there were issues related to a herniated disc I was so sure that I would need to have surgery. However, there is no need for that. Dr. Watkins put together a bit of a rehabilitation program and as long as I follow it, I should be fine.

I don’t need surgery so that's the good news. I also get a little time off, so I guess that counts as good news too. Dr. Watkins, who is a spine specialist at the Marina Spine Center identified a protruding disc in my lower back. According to him, though, it does not need surgery. Not at the moment, anyway.
Dr. Watkins says it’s not that bad because it’s not touching any nerve, which would have meant that I would have definitely had to have surgery. I trust Dr. Watkins to fix this. He informed me that I was going to have to follow a strengthening program. The ultimate goal of this program would be to protect the area around the bulging disc. I have nothing to lose. I’m willing to put in the work to get better.
