Charles Tillman Had Lumbar Microdiscectomy with Dr. Robert Watkins IV

Dr. Watkins sort of went through all the steps of the surgery with me before I even had it scheduled. He made sure I understood what he was putting out and what I had to put out following the surgery in rehabilitation. We were a good team!

It sounds scary to find out that you have to have back surgery, and it is a big deal but I am always the type of guy that sees the best in a situation. Of course, I did not look forward to surgery but I did look forward to the benefits that came with it. I talked to Dr. Watkins plenty before just to sort of getting out the worries I had in my head and he so gracefully addressed them.
He explained to me that he was going to use a minimally invasive procedure. I learned that it meant that there were only going to be a few small cuts, evidently less blood and from what I was told a rapid operation. Dr. Watkins was confident about the surgery and that calmed me down a lot. He removed a piece of a disc in my lower back. He did great.
