Craig Wilson Had Lumbar Microdiscectomy with Dr.
It was painful to do anything I did in baseball and just in a normal, off day. I suspected that something had to be wrong but I tried to play through it. Does that ever work for anyone? I feel like we all do it and then learn the hard that we shouldn't have.

The pain was awful and everything was awful because of the pain. I needed to get it taken care of and I went to the Marina Spine Center to see what could be done about it. It was there that I saw Dr. Watkins who is a spine expert and I learned from him that I suffered from a herniated disc that had to be operated.
Dr. Watkins told me that he was going to be in charge of the intervention and we talked for quite a bit about what this was going to mean for my career. I was informed that I will be able to continue to play after a period of rehabilitation after the surgery would have been performed. That was great news because that was where my greatest fears were coming from, my professional life and how to manage it while recovering.
